Recruit Central are looking for an Accountant based in the Solihull, this role would be perfect for someone with account payable background. Under supervision performs accounting duties of Basic/moderate complexity. Perform a variety of routine input, balancing and general clerical activities in accordance with standard accounting and documentation.
A wide variety of responsibilities may exist within the various accounting units. Responsibilities vary, but may include one or more of the following duties:

Working with the Regional Treasury Centre in Luxembourg

Post business transactions, process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records

Ensure the accuracy of an organization’s financial documents for payment, auditing, and tax purposes

Protect businesses against unintentional overpayment
-
Participates in accomplishment of continuous improvement objectives for the department. Progress toward accomplishment of these is measured through maintenance of necessary measurements and analysis of associated data. Participates in the identification of problem areas and development of resolutions to address them.

Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices or receiving signatures

Assemble and review invoices to be completed for payment

Maintain copies of vouchers, invoices or correspondence necessary for files
-
Obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments
-
Timely processing of New Business funding in bank and any other Ad-hoc priority payments

Reconcile outstanding items on bank statements
-
Monthly Intercompany Receipts and Payments processing
-
Audit and Sox Compliance
-
Daily/ Weekly Treasury Requests – Cash and Banking

Performing relevant Month End activities before and after period close

Performing Timely completion of Factoring Requests

Supporting the wider finance team

May coordinate and review lower-level accounting work assignments for accuracy and completeness.

Dealing with Ad-hoc queries
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Ability to seek out relevant information.
- Ability to apply math computation skills including basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as statistics and other mathematical concepts used in modeling.
- Knowledge of accounting General Ledger distributions and ability to verify correctness and completeness of such information.
- Knowledge of basic to Moderate Excel spreadsheets and Word documents.
- Must demonstrate initiative, leadership, and the ability to communicate effectively.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Relevant knowledge in accounting, or a related business discipline/ Qualified by Experience.
Working hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am until 5pm
This role is also Hybrid, 3 days onsite and 2 days from home.
